I got into music at a early age. I would go around and sing with my mom and dad at nursing homes and everywhere I could! Started playing guitar in 93 shortly after my dad passed. I was a dj for many years which lead me down a bad path! 2011 I got saved and changed my life! Played in the band at church and I started this band up a few years ago!! I have always wanted to play country music since I was a kid! I am 42 years young and i'm giving this music thing my all and i know that this group is special and we are gonna make it!! Rock ON!! My journey began around 1975 playing guitar to LP's on a turntable. Influenced by some of the jam bands and southern rockers of the era! I navigated through the hard rock/heavy metal 80's and 90's and today's country and contemporary christian artists. After decades of lead/rhythm guitar in various cover bands I have found my way home playing bass with my brothers and sisters in Favored Band!! We are writing and playing with a greater purpose! I started playing guitar at 15, playing music with a couple of guys around my neighborhood. I started taking music more seriously in my early twenties, when I started playing in the worship band in the church. It was there that I was able to meet other musicians and started playing in different bands, starting in my mid twenties. From there I've been in a number of bands over the years. I can't imagine life without playing music in some capacity, and to be able to do it while presenting a positive message, is icing on the cake.

She loves music! She also loves Bear Hunting with a slingshot! This girl has jumped out of a airplane without a parachute! She was shot 7 times stopping a bank robbery! She was singing before she could talk!
Mark Salehar
Drummer
Mark started playing piano at the age of 5, moved to organ at the age of 7, eventually making his debut as a church organist at the ripe old age of 10 at St Peter and Paul Church on the south of Chicago. At 11 he took up clarinet to play in the school concert band. At 13 he took up vibraphone/bells/xylophone to play in the school jazz band and to march with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. It was during his time with the Cavaliers that Mark found his true passion…….drums. Since then, he has played drums in a number of different bands in his hometown of Chicago, as well as overseas in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Mark eventually found his way “home” to North Carolina and was lucky enough to find a great group of musicians in his fellow Favored Band mates, who are not only excellent players but also play to a higher calling.

I am a passionate musician that loves live entertainment. Having grown up on country radio in the Chicagoland area ("WMAQ is gonna make me rich!" . . . anyone?) I feel both excited and blessed to be a part of the FAVORED Band family. "How did this happen", you ask? C'mon out to a show and chase me down - I'd be happy to share! This is my first, full-tilt country band after many years of both original and cover bands in Rock, Pop, Progressive, and Worship.
